Niykee's personal highlights include getting selected to be part of Snoop in the YouTube Brandcast, in May 2013, and writing songs despite all the turmoil in the last couple of years. A producer magnet Niykee is constantly looking through the many beats that are delivered to her. The majority beats spark fresh music ideas. "I'll be able to tell in the first five minutes if this is a quality beat. Once I have a melody in my brain, I will start writing right away." When I am playing my guitar in my front yard the words begin to flow. Most of the time it is done in about 30 minutes. As she continues develop as a musician, Niykee says that her pain from the past serves as an endless source of unlikely sources of inspiration. "Even even if I'm not writing about my personal life the grief of losing my sister and my painful childhood experiences are integrated into my songs," she says. The grief of losing my sister, and the memories of my childhood shapes the songs that I create. It's crucial for me to have a deep significance to all I perform.
